The new Xbox 360 Kinect offers motion controller free gaming. Microsoft have released details of the new Xbox 360 Kinect games console that is set to rival the Nintendo Wii due to it not needing the use of a motion controller. All games can be operated with motion sensing, from hand gestures, to body movements and voice commands.
The technology behind the intelligence is a 3-camera appliance. It is unknown as yet, if it will come with the Xbox 360 or as a separate item to buy. The image below shows the Kinect appliance at the front.
A November release is not far off and just in time for Christmas, for those who think it's about time for a brand new gaming experience. The price is a factor that will determine its presence in the market and whether it will be such a rival for the successful and reasonably priced Wii.
Exercise and physical play will be possible with the following compatible games with the Xbox 360 Kinect: Zomba Party, Game Party in Motion, MotionSports, Kinect Adventures, The Biggest Loser: Ultimate Workout, Kinect Joyride, Kinect Sports, Adrenalin Misfits, Deca Sports Collection, Dance Central, Dance Masters, Sonic Free Riders, Kinectimals, EA Sports Active 2.0 and Your Shape: Fitness Evolved.
Additional News:
At last, the new Xbox 360 slim has been launched.
At E3 2010, Microsoft have been very busy showcasing the new Xbox 360 Slim along with the Xbox 360 Kinect (as previously reported). Gamers around the world will cheer as the news of the updated Xbox 360 surfaces, with its 250GB hard drive and imminent release date.
The release date for the US this week, and in the UK & Europe it will be July 16.
The design sure is smart, with smaller dimensions and a new shape. Microsoft also say that the new version is near on silent with a whisper quiet sound output. There are extra cooling vents this time, an external power supply, 5 USB socket, ethernet, HDMI and optical audio port.
A wireless controller and headset are provided with the new console, and it said to be compatible with the new Xbox 360 Kinect motion sensing appliance for hands free motion controlling.

For some reason I have a feeling that 1st person shooters will ultimately fail in this new technology.. But I may be wrong.
